Top window for the Datalogic Magellan 3550HSi barcode scanner. The top window is available with tin-oxide glass and with sapphire glass.
The top window with tin-oxide glass is a cheap alternative to the top window with sapphire glass. The tin-oxide glass has a coating that protects against scratches, but is less resistant to scratches than sapphire glass.
The sapphire glass is best resistant to scratches and is intended for applications where optimum performance of the barcode scanner is a requirement. A top window with sapphire glass will probably not have to be replaced due to scratches and will last much longer than a top window with tin-oxide glass.
Note: a window with scratches or damage can adversely affect the overall performance of the scanner. It is therefore useful to regularly inspect the top window for scratches or damage and to replace it in time.
